About the Yankee

Life From A Moving Truck . . .

Four years ago, I packed up all of my belongings and moved halfway across the country, from Ohio to Texas, to join my new husband and start our life. The south was a perfect fit, with sunny days and high temperatures. When the military took us to Georgia a few months later, there was nothing but excitement. I may have spent half my time cursing roaches and mosquitoes and longing for good, old northern efficiency, but we had a wonderful time in the Low Country.

Our first child was born during his second deployment. To read about our journey of 15 months apart and my experience of moving "back home", check out My Longest Year. You'll find a good background of where this blog started off from.

After returning to the south, our little family got busy learning to live together and working on adding to our family. Camping, traveling, beaches, sewing, photography, gardening, natural parenting and crunchy granola values - it's all what makes our world go round.

The husband recently finished his time in service, and we're living the nomadic homeless lifestyle, back up in Ohio. A job, a move, a house, and a new baby are all coming soon . . . so stay tuned :-)
